Good goggles, but not for night vision May 2, 2009

These are well-made goggles, but Amazon's description is a bit misleading. Yes they are red, but that is because the coating on the outside reflects red light. The scene looking through the lenses is actually green - they transmit green light - and this makes them useless for preserving night vision. So if you want goggles useful in bright sunlight for outdoor activities, they are great. If you expected goggles with red-colored lenses to preserve night vision, look elsewhere. Another point for people who wear eyeglasses, they are small and light weight so they cannot fit over eyeglasses - be sure to take that into consideration.
